Samuel Whipple House, Rhode Island

This was the residence of Samuel Whipple, Captain John Whipple's second son. He purchased the house from Roger Mowry in 1671 and subsequently enlarged it. Located at 30 Abbott Street in Providence, it was demolished in 1900. The large tree beside the house was cut down in 1905. The trees in the background denote the location of the North Burial Ground.
