Thomas Whyppill, of Newporte Ponde, in the county of Essex, Bladesmythe, son of Thomas Whyppyll, of Stortford, in the county of Hertford, Bladesmyth, deceased, appeared in Chancery and acknowledged that he owed John Craythorne, citizen and cutlellar, of London £200 to be paid at All Saints next to come.At Easter Term 1555 he transferred 'messuages and lands in Stortford' to this same John Craythorne, possibly as partial repayment of the £200 debt."
