In 1820 there were four Whipple men listed on the census for Tompkins Co. (town of Groton), NY--David, Ithamar, Joel, and Jonathan. Only David and Ithamar had males under age 10 in their household, but the probable two in the WGW--Ithamar Whipple {7130} and his brother David {7135}--have a good line of descendants which don't include a Daniel Whipple born in Dec. 1819 in Tompkins Co., NY. (I assume that the Joel Whipple is another brother {7131} as is Jonathan Whipple 7136.)" --N. Combs.
